In past Maddens when I ran the ball, especially between the tackles, the holes closed so quickly that if I didn’t escape through them cleanly, it felt like I was getting sucked into a tackle animation. To be able to find holes and hit them, even with a bigger and slower runner, shows what a new technology allows EA Sports to do.

Whichever side of the fence you fall on, you’ve probably been anxious to see how Madden NFL 21 would perform on a next-gen console. Then there are some that haven’t been too impressed with this latest installment because it lacks ingenuity. It highlights everything great about NFL Street, which unfortunately, hasn’t seen life in years. There are others that have appreciated the throw-bad mode called The Yard.
